I want to take a moment and discuss a fashion faux pas, which really is a huge personal pet peeve of mine. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not the age of trash or the century of sleaze…
Great undergarment manufacturers have put a lot of time and research into making appropriate panties and bras for various fashion trends and necklines. They also make very sassy, racy, cute and ornamented undergarments.
Ladies, if the shirt is a spaghetti strap, wear a strapless bra. If you feel very uncomfortable in a strapless, and you’ve tried every brand, wear a flesh toned bra or one that is the same color as the top. Or, better yet, skip the spaghetti strap shirt altogether.
If it is a razor back top, there are razor back bras. If you don’t want to spend the money for a new bra, there are clips designed to pull the straps in to hide them. Avoid ornamental bras with a light fabric top. Otherwise, the beads and bows can bump out in the wrong places and make you look anatomically incorrect.
For panties, the thong hanging out of the top of pants has never, and will never look good. The men may like the show, but it is not classy. 
Men, you don't escape either! Pull up the pants, because no one likes to see what brand of briefs you are wearing. If you can afford the CK boxer briefs, good for you.
Also, no one likes to go out for a nice dinner and see someone else’s crack while they bend over to pick up their dropped napkin or toddler. Make sure your pants are the correct size, and wear tops long enough to be tucked in or cover you during your range of movements.
Keep it to yourself, please. Life should have some mystery.
Ladies, one more thing. I had to help two women in the gaslamp this weekend with this problem. Clothing companies make a rubber band or ribbon loop to help hang clothes made of delicate fabric, complex cuts, and/or thin to no straps to hang the garment. If you are bad about tucking these bands, cut them, and fold the garment and store it in a drawer. Just as it’s unsightly and unkempt to have bra straps showing, so are these fashion nightmares which help us hang our clothing.
Fashion trend tip: Want the high fashion LA rocker style? Go for black flats or heels with metal studs and an ankle band. Skip the dog collar, but grab a great oversized black purse with metal accents. Nothing like the 80s banger hair, but be careful not to look too garbage rock. You don’t need the band t-shirt or the lighter, just the right accessories and make up. For make up, go for the gold and black smoky eyes with lighter colored lips.
